You may place any household waste into your garbage except hazerdous chemicals, sealed containers of paint, tires, motor oil, and auto or other vehicle batteries. For pickup of these items or large items such as appliances, furniture, or equipment, call for a quote.
Taking care of your garbage yourself can be costly. A container equivalent to the one we provide will cost you $100. Our average customer typically fills that can on a weekly basis, requiring it to be emptied. Each trip to the Habersham County Landfill costs a minimun of $3 disposal fee. Time and gas expense will vary depending on your location in the county, but could average 30 minutes and cost you $2-$5 in gas. So, doing it yourself will require an upfront investment for a container, then have a monthly cost of up to $32 plus take you 1-2 hours. WE SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY!
We service all of Habersham County, including municipalites which give customers the option of choosing their provider. We also will service areas of Banks, White, Hall, and Stephens counties which are just outside of Habersham County. If you are not sure, call us!
We service the county 4 days a week. If you live in South Habersham area from Historic 441 down to Alto, Baldwin area, you are on Tuesday. If you live in the Clarkesville area toward Sautee/Helen, we service you on Monday. North Habersham area of Clarkesville up to the Orchard, we service on Wednsday. Mt. Airy, Demorest, and Camp Creek area of Cornelia, we service on Friday. If you are not sure of your specific day, please call us.
We accept #1 and #2 plastic bottles, aluminum cans, newspaper, and cardboard for recycling. All containers must be rinsed and have the lids removed before placing them in the recylce container. You may also place auto batteries, cell phones and cell phone batteries, ink cartridges, any rechargeable batteries into the recycle bin. Please put these smaller items into zip lock bags before placeing them into the container.
